Shelter Services - Safe Secure Emergency Housing

All shelter services are available in Spanish.

SafeHouse Denver provides safe and secure emergency housing for women and children victimized by domestic violence.

Women who need emergency housing must call the crisis line and talk with a shelter advocate. The advocate will assess her situation, and if space is available, assist the caller to come into the shelter. Necessities are provided by the shelter program, including bedding, food, personal hygiene items, and basic medical care.

Adult shelter residents participate in individual and group counseling. Each woman will work with her shelter advocate to develop a plan of action that may include legal concerns, safety planning, housing referrals, employment assistance or job training referrals. SafeHouse advocates are familiar with resources in the Denver metro area and can act as liaisons to other organizations.

Our children's counseling staff also provide children with individual and group support. SafeHouse has arrangements with day-care providers and local schools to provide services to children and youth while in the shelter. We serve both boys and girls up to age 18 at our shelter.

The length of stay in shelter is 30 days and extensions may be granted.
