November is Homelessness Awareness Month

In fear of her safety and well-being, Isabella walked away from the home she’d worked so hard for. She came to SafeHouse Denver determined to find safety and to build a new life—and home. She actively participated in many group sessions and worked with her advocate to connect with potential community resources.

Despite her hard work and sheer determination, Isabella has found it increasingly difficult to find housing she can afford.

Unfortunately, Isabella’s story is not uncommon with 50% of all homeless women defining domestic violence as the direct cause of their homelessness. During #HomelessnessAwarenessMonth, We encourage you to learn more about the link between homelessness and domestic violence.
