Parenting in the Context of Domestic Violence

Survivors and their children often still encounter abusive control post-separation through custody orders and shared parenting arrangements. This training will focus on the impacts of domestic violence exposure on children and the ways in which abusers use children as tools of abuse after separation. Strategies for coping with counter-parenting will be provided as well as information on ways to advocate within the civil legal system.

Approximate Time Needed: 90 minutes

Target Audience: Child welfare workers, medical professionals, educators, advocacy groups, childcare providers

Suggested Donation*:

  • $175 for groups under 20 people; $225 for groups of 20-50
  • For nonprofit organizations or those primarily serving marginalized populations: $100 for groups under 20 people; $150 for groups of 20-50
  • For groups of larger than 50, please inquire for a suggested donation quote.

*These costs are suggested donations to cover the time, effort and expertise of the staff providing the education.
