Adopt A Unit

Adopt-A-Unit Initiative

Thank you for your interest!

By symbolically adopting one of the apartment units at SafeHouse Denver's Extended Stay Program, you are directly supporting survivors and their children who reside in this life-saving complex. Your contribution will ensure that each unit is well-maintained, and you will help survivors across all of SafeHouse Denver's services receive the resources they need to live a life free from domestic violence.

Your Commitment

  • The donation to adopt one unit is set at $11,000.
    • $1,000 of that donation is restricted to a fund used specifically to replace or refresh items in your "adopted" room on an as-needed basis.
    • The remaining $10,000 is used for general operations to ensure that survivors of domestic violence have the safety and care they seek.
  • Only six (6) units are available, and each "adoption" lasts for one fiscal year (April 1 to March 31).

Your Benefits

  • A deep connection to the survivors that reside at the Extended Stay Program and all who seek support at SafeHouse Denver
  • Name recognition on SafeHouse website, annual report and other communications
    • Option to remain anonymous
  • Opportunity to name the room: "Sponsored by ABC Bank" or "Betty's Butterfly Room" or "Dedicated in Honor of the Smith Family"
  • Opportunity to decorate the outside door of your unit for holidays or seasons*
    • Based upon mutual agreement with current resident(s) and staff on décor and timing; subject to availability
  • Up to two volunteer opportunities per year
    • Could be painting, making and hanging artwork, cleaning/sprucing the room for new residents, yard clean up, etc.
  • Two times per year, our staff will share with you a photo of your "adopted" room and an update/story of a family or individual currently residing in that unit
    • All resident information will be anonymized to protect the safety of our clients
  • Early opportunity to provide Thanksgiving baskets and/or holiday gifts for the residents in your "adopted" unit*

If you are interested in “adopting” an Extended Stay Program apartment, please contact Shannon Boltz, Chief Development Officer, at 303-302-6116.

Thank you!

*Note that if you choose to participate in decorating or providing gifts/baskets, any costs for such activities is in addition to the donation to adopt the unit and is the sole responsibility of the donor.
